"I'm Being Shafted", says Big Bad Bazza
Former Geelong and Essendon champion John Barnes has claimed that Sydney Swans Premiership captain, 'Big Bad' Barry Hall, believes that his club is trying to shaft him to make way for Carlton star, Brendan Fevola.
Former Geelong and Essendon champion John Barnes has claimed that Sydney Swans Premiership captain, 'Big Bad' Barry Hall, believes that his club is trying to shaft him to make way for Carlton star, Brendan Fevola.

Barnes, who is now a columnist for the Geelong Advertiser, has stated in his column that "A friend of mine in Sydney rang me up on Tuesday after having a coffee with Barry Hall".

"It's like Barry Hall was telling my friend that they're trying to force him out the back door because they think they've got something else lined up. That's what Barry thinks."

"I think they're trying to shaft Barry for a newer model".
"Hence Adam Goodes picking up Brendan Fevola at the hotel last saturday to meet with (Sydney) coach Paul Roos".
"And they're still denying it. Someone's playing funny buggers".

'Big Bad Bazza' was suspended indefinitely by the Swans on Monday 7th July (2008) after a recommendation from the club psychologist Grant Brecht. This decision came after Hall copped a 1 week suspension for attempting to strike veteran Collingwood defender, Shane Wakelin, during the game on Saturday 5th July at ANZ Stadium.
Barnes says that he understands why Fevola would be tempted to listen to Sydney's offer, which is reported to be a four-year offer (with lot's more money to piss up against the wall!).

"My personal opinion is, I think Fev will definitely look at every option, and what man wouldn't, with the figures they're chucking around," said Barnes.

"He's got a hard decision to make".

"Even still, I reckon Barry's got a right to be angry".
"It's amazing how footy will chew you up and spit you out once they've finished with you".

Meanwhile Collingwood have denied rumours that Shane Wakelin is considering a huge offer from many top Italian soccer clubs keen to capitalise on his brilliant diving skills shown in the incident.
